Debate Club is a social industry event developed to encourage diversity of thought. Controversial topics are debated in a university-style debate format between two teams of future leaders of the industry.
The topic for Debate Club’s Advertising Week's gathering will be to explore the possibilities of how AI will shape the advertising industry and whether it will impact humans’ general mistrust of advertising.
In this session, we will see a battle between the Affirmative defending and the Opposition attacking the statement. Each team will have four rounds of timed speaking opportunities to list their points and elaborate on whether AI will cause human mistrust in advertising.
None of the team members are representing their own or their company's point of view on the topic. They will use short and snappy arguments to persuade the judging board and win the ultimate trophy of whits. They will demonstrate that every argument has strong points on each side, drive diversity of thought and encourage discussion. Expect learning about AI in the advertising industry, understanding both sides of the argument and guaranteed laughter.
A judging board of senior industry leaders will make a decision about the winner and viewers will have the opportunity to share their opinion through a public vote.
