Advertising Week Staff Descends on Mexico for Relief and Rebuilding

The Central Mexico Earthquake that took place this past September was devastating by every possible measure, resulting in the collapse of over 40 buildings and substantial hardships for the Mexican people.

Following the earthquake, and in light of its impact on Mexico City, the inaugural edition of Advertising Week Latin America was moved from the week of 13 November 2017 to 12-15 February 2018.

As part of our commitment to Mexico and its people, a team of volunteers from Advertising Week will be traveling to Mexico during the original launch date of Advertising Week LATAM in a cleanup and restoration effort. On Thursday, 16 November 2017, we’re heading to Ameyalli Comunidad Educativa, Malinalco, to help rebuild various parts of the school, reconstruct the student lunch areas, paint, and cleanup damage left from the earthquake.

While our efforts might be small in comparison to the destruction caused by the earthquake, our intent is to unite the advertising industry and assist in uplifting the people of Mexico.

Please email us to find out more information about our trip or if you are available and considering in joining us on the 16th.

Follow our efforts on Twitter @advertisingweek and @AW_LATAM on Thursday, 16 November 2017.
